We would like to introduce our Christmas Advert and explain a little bit about what it all means. However you celebrate the Christmas Season, its historically about family time and for many of us our pets are part of that family unit. It’s also the season of joy, love and goodwill. 2020 has been a year like no other, it has presented many hurdles and given us time to reflect on what’s important in life during the lengthy lockdowns.

Our Christmas advert is about promoting tolerance for those who chose to love a pet as part of the family unit. PAAW House evolved from our personal experience of negative pet polices, when we were hounded out of our home 2 years ago for having a dog in our family.
In the time that followed I have spoken to many people who have experienced, or know someone who has suffered, as a result of the disparity and lack of clarity around no pet clauses. All very different cases, all with one common feature, no pet clauses forcing people to either move, give up their pet, give up on the idea of having a pet as a companion or finding it impossible to move to a new home with a pet.
In one very sad case a negative pet policy resulted in the suicide of a homeless gentleman, who was offered temporary accommodation by the council but it excluded his pets. His friend Dee Bonett has since campaigned tirelessly for change, resulting in her local council changing their policy to include pets in temporary accommodation.
A wonderful achievement by Dee, and overwhelming proof of the need for change. According to Battersea Dogs and Cats home, housing problems are the second biggest reason for pets being given up to their care.

So folks, in a nutshell our advert is about raising awareness for #JasminesLaw, a bill recently introduced to Parliament by Andrew Rosindell MP, to campaign for the right to have #APetInEveryHome. There are many elements to PAAW House, having fun and creating a hub for like minded people being at the top of the list, however, our commitment to those who work to make the lives of animals better, and our goal to end pet discrimination will always be at the core of who we are.
